Bowel dysfunction is surrounded by misconceptions and taboos that may interfere with treatment and that may result in self-medication not always innocuous to the patient care.
An objective evaluation of the bowel dysfunction is important to be able to have a consistent measure, facilitate monitoring of disease progression and, also to compare patients and for standardization of treatment.
For TAI treatment it is important to have a measure of improvement, or not, of symptoms to encourage the patient to adhere to treatment. There is not one scores that fit all; in this presentation an overview of different scores used in the scientific literature is presented.
